Idea
Our idea is to create a short ident with a duration of roughly 25 seconds. The ident will portray a man driving a Go-Kart through a supermarket car park and reversing into an available space between two cars. The man will then lock his Go-Kart like a car and walk off, meanwhile another car will drive along and attempt to park in the space, only to realise that it is occupied by a Go-Kart, and drive off. The dave room scene (seen i other idents by dave, Recreated for our ident) will drop down and bounce into the screen. Why are we rebranding Dave? We are rebranding Dave as their current corporate identity seems to conflict with itself as it is trying to be a comedy channel with a high class theme, ending up with a brand that is split into two sides; the comedy side and the formal side. How are we going to rebrand Dave? We are going to rebrand Dave as a homely comedy channel, as in, a solely comedy channel that targets the audience in their homes rather than creating the sense of a pub or business environment, as the two don't fit together. Key Content The key content of this ident is the Go-Kart driver parking his Go-Kart in a car parking space and walking off while another driver is unable to park due to the Go-Kart. Another piece of key imagery in the ident is the costume of the Go-Kart driver - who should be wearing a suit and tie, alongside an old pilot's helmet and goggles. Target Audience The target audience of this ident would be the same as Dave's regular target audience - 16 to 34 year old males.JustificationWe decided to create this ident, out of all of our ideas, as we feel it is the closest to the feel of Dave's real idents and is the most realistic idea for a Dave style ident.
