Analysis
Do you like our interpretation of the design? This was an important question to ask as it would help inform us if people liked our new design. This is important as is shows the designers if they are going in the right direction in their design. Everyone we interviewed stated that they liked the new design. As we had good feedback from the people we interviewed, we don't believe we should make any allegations with the new logo. What do you like about our design? We asked this question as it would show us the best parts of our new logo design. This would help us understand why people like our logo. One person we interviewed said they like it because it looked neat and similar to the current dave logo, but that it had more of an appeal to younger audiences. This helped us to realise that out logo works well for being aimed at younger audiences, but that it worked well as the dave logo as it was still a similar theme to the current dave logo. What could we improve about our design? We asked this question to try and get some constructive criticism,to try and improve the logo as much as possible. All of the interviewees stated that the logo should use more colour, making it look more attractive. Also someone stated we should have used a bolder font. This feedback has advised us to add a larger variety of colours and a slightly bolder font. Does the new logo match Dave's corporate identity? We asked this question to find out is people felt the new logo fitted the Dave corporate identity. This is important as the logo needs to fit the channel and not just look appealing. Everyone we interviewed stated that they felt the new logo fits dave corporate identity. This feedback is helpful as it shows that the logo we created fits the Dave channel. What does the dave brand mean to you? We asked this question I asked this because I wanted to know if my design suited what people felt about the Dave brand. Two of the people we interviewed associate the Dave brand with funny or comedic imagery. One of the people we interviewed associates the Dave brand with one specific show that he watches, namely, Top Gear. The other two people we interviewed have no association with the Dave brand as they are not viewers. I don't feel that the answers I recieved are exactly what I was expecting, but that may be down to the wording of the question itself. What imagery do you associate with the brand? This question was made to be similar to the previous question, but to reveal the imagery they associated with the brand, rather than their feelings towards it. One of the people we interviewed associated funny or comedic imagery with the Dave brand, whereas the others associated the Dave brand with either old people or an older audience. This question recieved more of the type of answer I was expecting, and the answers I got are more useful than those to the question before. The majority of the interviewees answered that they relate the Dave brand with older people, which could be a sign that the Dave brand is not correctly targeting a younger audience which they claim to be trying to. What should we include in our rebranded ident?I asked this so I could get an understanding of the type of imagery that people would like to see within the Dave idents. The main suggestion for what we should include in our rebranded ident was more colour, though other suggestions included a bolder font, something that would appear to a younger audience and something to appeal to the current target audience. The answers I recieved reveal that people would generally like to see a greater use of colour in my rebranded Dave ident.
